QAETT / MUSIC FOR PIANO THREE: evolutions (FBMA, 2020, digital)
The 3-track EP 'Music for Piano Three: Evolutions', is a return to more piano-focused work after the ambient EP 'Music for Quiet One', while using more ambient influences than in the two earlier piano EP's.
This EP starts of with 'Future Echoes', a dreamy, meditative piano piece, that leans strongly towards ambient, with its atmospherical pads, field recordings, reverb and granular effects. 'We Saw the Clouds Gathering' is a darker, cinematic track, speckled with noise. The EP concludes with 'The Blessed Calm of Nothingness', a slow moving minimal piece with a more optimistic feel.

This second EP in the Music for Piano-series continues where part one left off: with minimal and pensive compositions, drenched in ambience, exploring the possibilities of the piano as a sound source in different avenues. 'To the Quiet’ is a slight exception as it’s a delicate, calm, restrained, melancholic solo piano track.

First in a series of EP’s 'Music for Piano One: Beginnings’ is a return to basics: the piano as the source of all sounds, exploring the vast array of territory it provides within its sonic confines, using different techniques and effects. The four songs alternate between the peaceful, deliberately lo-fi, raw, noisy, minimal and pensive, providing a soundtrack for those moments of calm and quiet.
